The Sideways Nissan Skyline Turbo Gr.5 #1 Calsonic Racing Edition (model number FC01 or SWFC01) is a highly sought-after 1/32 scale slotcar produced by the French manufacturer Racer Sideways. This car is a faithful replica of the legendary Nissan Skyline that starred in the early 80's in the Japanese Super Silhouette Series (part of the Group 5 Regulations).
The slotcar is known in the model building world for its outstanding performance right out of the box ("ready for competition racing") thanks to the high-quality parts that have been delivered under the hood.
Technical Specifications & Performance
Drive & Motor: Equipped with a powerful Slot.it Flat-6 20,500 RPM motor, mounted in an adjustable Anglewinder engine mount.
Transmission: Standard equipped with a gear ratio of 11 teeth (pignon) on 28 teeth (crown wheel).
Rims: Lightweight aluminium rims at the rear (17x8mm) for optimal stability and plastic rims at the front (15x8mm).
Tyres: Competitive Slot.it C1 rubber racing tires.
Weight: An extremely light and aerodynamic body with a total weight of approximately 82 grams.
Magnet: Equipped with a removable Slot.it 'dog bone'-style magnet.
Track Compatibility & Digital Upgrading
The car is designed as standard for analog racetracks (2-wire system) such as Carrera Evolution, Scalextric, Ninco and wooden club tracks. Do you want to drive it digitally? Then the Skyline is easy to convert with a digital decoder chip:
Carrera Digital 132: Compatible with the assembly of a Carrera Chip (26732).
Scalextric Digital: Compatible by using a Scalextric Chip (C7005) or Slot.it Chip (SISP15B).
The Original Race Monster
The look is based on the iconic blue-and-white Calsonic Racing-livery. The real Group 5 cars (also known as "Silhouette cars") had to visually still resemble the street-legal Nissan Skyline, but were subcutaneously pure racing beasts with huge wheel arches, giant spoilers and fire-breathing turbos that produced more than 550 hp at the time
