History & Characteristics
Introduction: The name Biarritz was first used in 1956 to distinguish the convertible version of the Cadillac Eldorado from the closed coupé (Eldorado Seville).
Iconic design: The model is known for its typical American lushness: giant tail fins (especially the famous 1959 model), plenty of chrome, panoramic windscreens and a very rich standard equipment.
Later years: In the 70's and 80's, the Biarritz returned as an exclusive 'top trim' package (luxury package) on later generations of the Eldorado, including padded leather upholstery, special roofs and extra chrome. Production ended in the early 90's.
Second hand and Prices
Classic value: Early models (such as the 50's convertibles) are wanted collectibles whose prices vary widely, sometimes from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of euros depending on the state.
Offer: You will regularly come across classic copies via international collector platforms or occasion websites such as AutoScout24 or overview sites such as Hemmings.
