Scale: 1:32
Engine: Equipped with the well-known and powerful Ninco NC-2 Speeder engine.
Magnet: Standard equipped with one interchangeable neodymium magnet for extra handling.
Compatibility: The car is analog and runs smoothly on almost all known 1:32 slot racetracks such as Scalextric, Carrera, SCX and Ninco itself.
Packaging: Originally supplied in the characteristic transparent plastic display box (crystal case) of Ninco with a black or red plinth.
Because Ninco has stopped producing these specific traditional slotcars for some time, this model has mainly become a sought-after collector item on platforms such as eBay and at specialized slotcar stores.
The Ninco Mercedes CLK DTM Oasis (50291) is indeed based on a real racing car from DTM history.
The key facts about the real car behind this slotcar model:
The real car: The model is a faithful replica of the Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM that competed in the German DTM championship in the 2000 season.
The driver: The car with starting number 16 was driven in 2000 by the German driver Bernd Mayländer. He drove that season for the team Team Persson Motorsport. Mayländer is now best known worldwide as the regular driver of the official Safety Car in Formula 1.
The livery: The striking poison green and white colors were the official corporate colours of the main sponsor Oasis, a well-known German manufacturer of pond pumps and water technology.
The technique (real car): Unlike the standard CLK street version, the real DTM car was a pure racing machine with a rear-wheel drive 4.0-litre V8 engine that delivered around 450 hp at the time, packed in an extremely light carbon fiber (carbon) bodywork with advanced aerodynamics.
Ninco released the scale version (1:32) shortly afterwards to hitchhike on the huge popularity of the DTM championship during that period
